HBO Sports serves up a hot twin bill when HBO BOXING AFTER DARK: VICTOR ORTIZ VS. MARCOS RENE MAIDANA is seen SATURDAY, JUNE 27 at 10:00 p.m. (live ET/tape-delayed PT), from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, exclusively on HBO.

Golden Boy Promotions returns to Los Angeles' STAPLES Center with two World Championship bouts that will kick off the summer fight season in explosive fashion. In the main event, Oxnard's "Vicious" Victor Ortiz faces Marcos Maidana for the interim WBA World Super Lightweight Title and in the co-feature, Chris John and Rocky Juarez meet in an explosive rematch for the WBA World Featherweight Championship after their first bout on February 28th was scored a draw and left fans wanting more.

Topping off the ten fight show will be the young man known as “Juanma”, Juan Manuel Lopez, the undefeated, 25-0 (23 KOs) WBO Junior Featherweight Champion of the World who will be defending his belt against an unbeaten challenger in Olivier Lontchi, the NABA Super Bantamweight Champion who is 18-0-2 (8 KOs) in a twelve rounder that will be Lopez’ fourth defense of his world title.

Also appearing on the powerful show will be Jorge Arce, 51-5-1 (39 KOs), a former world champion who will face Fernando Lumacad, 19-1-2 (7 KOs) in a twelve round super-flyweight affair.

In a couple of non-Latin battles, IBF #3 Yuri Foreman, 27-0 (8 KOs), fights IBF #2 Cornelius Bundrage, 29-4 (17 KOs) in a twelve round IBF junior-middleweight elimination fight with a title fight awaiting the winner; and in another junior-middleweight fight, unbeaten Vanes Martirosyan, 24-0 (15 KOs) goes ten rounds with veteran, Andrey Tsurkan, 26-4 (17 KOs).

Former world title challenger “MIGHTY” Mike Arnaoutis will face Puerto Rican veteran Doel Carrasquillo in a ten round junior welterweight bout in the main event at “SUMMER RUMBLE” on Thursday, June 25th at Schuetzen Park in North Bergen, New Jersey.

The Arnaoutis/Carrasquillo bout headlines an outstanding evening of world class professional boxing presented by Pound For Pound Promotions.

The co-main event features popular Bayonne , New Jersey native Bobby Rooney taking on Brian Bernard of St. Joseph , Missouri in an eight round light heavyweight bout.

Also making his return to Schuetzen Park is fan favorite, light heavyweight Jason “MONSTRUO” Escalera. The undefeated light heavyweight prospect will face off against Florence , South Carolina ’s Joe Park in a six round bout.

Four additional bouts featuring the finest New Jersey prospects round out the “SUMMER RUMBLE” card.

Junior middleweight Chris Murphy, 2-0-0, (2KO’s), from Sparta , New Jersey , will battle Newark ’s La-Take Williams, 0-0-1, in a four round bout.

Asbury Park native Chris Green, 2-0-0 (1KO), will face Philadelphia ’s Montree Pope, 0-0-1, in a scheduled four round, lightweight bout.

Hard hitting cruiserweight Patrick Farrell, 2-0-0 (2KO’s) of Jersey City will face Rocky Mount, North Carolina native, Kenneth Farr, 0-2-0 in a four round bout.

Making his pro debut, junior middleweight Steve Martinez will face Dave Stuckey, 0-2-0, of Gladstone , Missouri in a four round bout.

Pound For Pound Promotions has finalized details for “SUMMER RUMBLE”, an outstanding evening of world class professional boxing set for this Thursday night, June 25th at Schuetzen Park in North Bergen, New Jersey.

“SUMMER RUMBLE” is the return of popular Greek junior welterweight and former world title challenger “MIGHTY” Mike Arnaoutis who will battle Puerto Rican veteran Doel Carrasquillo in a ten round junior welterweight bout. Arnaoutis, 21-3-2, is looking to climb back into the world rankings in 2009. The flashy southpaw, originally based in Greece, now residing in Atlantic City, New Jersey, had won all four of his bouts in 2008 before suffering a set back against Victor Ortiz on March 7th in San Jose, California.

Wladimir Klitschko vs Ruslan Chagaev

Ruslan Chagaev is the new opponent of IBF, WBO and IBO World Heavyweight Champion Wladimir Klitschko on June 20 in the Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen, Germany.

WBA Champion Chagaev was engaged after original fighter David Haye had pulled out due to an injury on Wednesday. The winner of the bout will receive the vacant Ring Magazine Heavyweight Championship Belt which was held by Vitali Klitschko until he retired in 2005

In a battle of blood and guts, Puerto Rican favorite Miguel Cotto overcame 12 rounds of desperation and danger Saturday night before coming away with a split decision victory against Joshua Clottey to retain the his welterweight crown.

The disappointment belonged to Clottey. The Ghana native, who lives in the Bronx, was knocked down in the first round but gave Cotto everything he could handle. After stalking Cotto and finding him for much of the 12 rounds, he felt he had done enough to win. He attempted a quick exit from the ring in disgust after hearing the decision. Judge Tom Miller scored it 114-113 for Clottey, while John McKaie 115-112 and Don Trella 116-111 both favored Cotto.
